Ross A. Reyman

Creative Art Director / Design Technologist

I work on complex product interfaces and try to make them feel simple.

I am a designer who codes and a developer who designs, and I love the overlap.

InvestigatorSpace — Trifecta, Acquired by WCG

Clinical trial investigator platform used across global studies.

Product and brand work that contributed to Trifecta’s multi-million dollar acquisition by WCG.

Investigators attend all-day study presentations — in person on a tablet or remotely via URL. Same UI either way. The design challenge was building something that stayed out of the way: non-intrusive enough that users could focus on the presentation and speakers, functional enough to handle chat, questions, and moderation without friction. I attended sessions in person to observe how investigators actually behaved before touching the interface.

Trial IntelX — WCG (Current)

Decision-support platform that helps clinical trial sponsors forecast outcomes by benchmarking against thousands of past trials.

Designing an interface where users have to interpret unfamiliar benchmarks and make expensive planning decisions — getting the clarity right matters.

  • Users come in with domain expertise but no familiarity with the benchmarks — the interface has to earn their trust before they’ll act on what it shows them.
  • Worked out interaction patterns for the simulation piece (adjusting variables to model outcomes) so the cause-and-effect relationship feels clear.
  • Building toward Figma specs that are actually ready for dev — states covered, edge cases documented, nothing left to interpretation.

About

Background and approach

Most of my work has been on products where simplicity on the surface is hard-won.

I find the genuinely complex problems more interesting — software with real depth that still needs to feel approachable. I’ve spent a long time on that kind of work: products with a lot going on underneath, users who know their domain well, and interfaces that have to hold up under real use.

I prototype early, stay close through build, and try to make sure the details don’t get lost in handoff. I’ve also spent time building out systems — component libraries, patterns, style guides — so teams can move faster without starting from scratch every time.

What I’m usually aiming for is an interface where the right next step feels obvious. Not dumbed down — just clear.

I spent years working with a team that was deeply passionate about their mission but perpetually behind on deadlines. Trying to understand why led me to write this.
